Communication Settings
The Communications page (Settings → Communications) is where you control what CONFIRM sends to candidates automatically and the templates those messages are built from. This page is a quick orientation — for a full walkthrough of editing rules and templates, see Templates & Automation.
Communication Rules
The Communication Rules tab lists every automated candidate-facing message, organized into groups: Interview lifecycle, Interview reminders, Candidate outreach, Evaluations, and Recovery. The header shows how many rules are active and how many messages they send.
Each rule is triggered by a pipeline event (an interview being booked, a candidate being rejected, and so on) and runs one or more steps:
- Channel — each step sends an SMS or an email.
- Timing — when the step fires relative to its trigger, shown as a chip like “Sent immediately”, “1 day before interview”, or “+24 hours later” for follow-up steps in a sequence.
- Content — the message body (and subject, for email), either written inline or linked to a saved template.
Expand a rule to preview and edit its messages. Type {{ in the editor to insert a variable such as the candidate’s first name or the job title, then click Save changes. Use the toggle on each rule to turn it on or off — edits and toggles apply to your whole organization.
Templates
The Templates tab holds your reusable Email and SMS templates:
- Your templates — create, edit, and delete custom templates. Variables work the same way as in rules.
- System templates — built-in templates used by the platform; you can view them but not edit or delete them.
Templates can be linked from communication rule steps and used when messaging candidates directly.
Exporting your communication package
Click Export package to download a Word document of every communication rule and what it sends — useful for reviewing copy with your team. Choose Filled-in preview to see example values in place of variables, or Show placeholders to keep {{variables}} visible for editing.
Candidates who shouldn’t be contacted at all are handled through candidate statuses (Do Not Contact) rather than this page.
