# Postings Overview

This page explains the difference between a job and a posting, and walks through the **Postings** page — the cross-job view of everywhere your roles are advertised.

## Jobs vs. postings

A **job** is the role itself: the title, description, location, pay, screening questions, and pipeline you set up in CONFIRM. A **posting** is that job advertised on one specific job board — Indeed, LinkedIn, or another board.

One job can have many postings. For example, a single Caregiver job might run on Indeed and LinkedIn at the same time — one job, two postings, each with its own status, run dates, and applicant count.

Postings come in two kinds:

* **Bought through CONFIRM** — a package on a board, ordered and billed through CONFIRM.
* **Own account** — posted to your organization's own Indeed or LinkedIn contract. CONFIRM doesn't charge for these; any sponsorship is billed to you by the board.

You can stop either kind at any time. Only own-account postings can be paused: a posting bought through CONFIRM is a paid run, and job boards have no pause for it.

Applicants from every posting flow back into the same job automatically, ready for [screening](/screening/how-screening-works).

## The Postings page

Open **Postings** in the sidebar. The header summarizes where things stand, and **Post a new role** starts a new posting (see [Posting to Job Boards](/postings/posting-to-job-boards)).

### Status tiles

Six tiles across the top count your postings by status. Click a tile to filter the list to it; click **Clear filters** to go back.

| Tile | What it counts |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Live** | Running now, including postings still being published |
| **Recurring** | Set to auto-renew at the end of each run |
| **Ending soon** | Finishing within 7 days and not set to renew |
| **Paused** | Postings taken offline. Only own-account postings can be paused. |
| **Ended** | Finished runs, including stopped postings |
| **Own account** | Postings on your own board contract |

### Postings for one job

You can also arrive on the Postings page narrowed to one job: click the **Live on N boards** chip on the [Jobs](/jobs/managing-jobs) page, or the job board source chip on a candidate's row. A banner reads **Showing postings for** *job*; click **Show all postings** (or **Clear filters**) to see everything again. When you come from a candidate, the posting they applied through is highlighted.

### Search and grouping

* **Search by job or board…** narrows the list as you type.
* **Group by** **Job** (the default) or **Board**. Each group header shows the job or board, a count of its postings by status, total **applicants**, and what was charged — for the current billing period where one applies.
* Click a group's arrow to collapse or expand it.

### Posting rows

Each posting is one row showing the board and package, a status, how far through its run it is (for example, "Day 11 of 30 · 19 days left"), applicants, and spend. Own-account rows show no spend, because the board bills you directly.

Statuses you'll see on a row:

| Status | Meaning |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Publishing** | Ordered and waiting for the board to publish it |
| **Live** | Running |
| **Renews** *date* | Running and set to renew on that date |
| *N* **days left** / **Ends today** | Ending soon and not set to renew |
| **Paused** | Taken offline on your own board account until you resume it |
| **Stopping…** | Stopped, and CONFIRM is waiting for the board to take it down. Boards can take a few hours. |
| **Stopped** | Taken down, with the date and who stopped it, or why (for example, when the job was filled) |
| **Ended** | The run finished |
| **Failed** | The board couldn't publish the posting |

Ended, stopped, and failed postings are hidden by default. Click **Show N ended postings** at the bottom of a group to see them (they always count in the group totals). Click the clock icon on a row to see that posting's history.

Each row has a main button (**Manage**, **Repost**, or **Open in** *board*) and an actions menu for stopping, syncing, reassigning, and turning auto-renew on or off, plus pausing and resuming for own-account postings — see [Managing Postings](/postings/managing-postings).

### Renewals ahead

When postings are set to renew within the next 7 days, a card near the bottom of the page lists them, with each renewal's date and cost and the total, at today's prices, that will be added to your next invoice. Renewals are re-ordered at today's price for the same boards. Use **Pause renewal** to stop one here, or turn auto-renew off from the posting's actions menu at any time — see [Managing Postings](/postings/managing-postings#auto-renew).

### Organic distribution

If free organic posting is turned on for your organization, an **Organic distribution** panel at the bottom lists your active jobs with a switch for each, plus **Enable all** and **Disable all**. Jobs that are switched on show **On free boards**. It's free, but placement isn't guaranteed and can take a day or two to appear. New jobs are switched on by default. If you don't see this panel, contact your CONFIRM account team.

## First posting

If you haven't posted anything yet, the page shows **No postings yet** with a **Post a role** button. Pick a role, choose your boards, and applicants start flowing back into CONFIRM automatically.
