# The Candidates Page

The **Candidates** page lists every applicant across all of your organization's jobs. From here you can search, filter, star candidates, act on many at once, and open any candidate's profile.

The header shows how many candidates match: total, active, and closed (hired, rejected, or do-not-contact). The list refreshes on its own every few seconds while the page is open, so new applicants and status changes appear without reloading.

## Columns

| Column | What it shows |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Checkbox | Select the candidate for [bulk actions](/candidates/bulk-actions). |
| Star | Star the candidate to add them to your **Starred** view. |
| Candidate | Name and phone number. A colored dot shows their fit tier when the **Tier** filter is on. A **Test** badge marks test candidates, and an icon marks referrals. |
| Source | Where the candidate came from, such as Indeed, LinkedIn, Career Site, or Referral. When CONFIRM knows the exact job board posting, the chip links to it. |
| Status | The candidate's current [status](/candidates/status-reference), with a short detail line underneath. A ↺ count means the candidate has applied before. |
| Job | The job they applied to. |
| Applied | When they applied, as a relative date such as "3 days ago". |

### The detail line under the status

The small line under each status gives you the latest fact without opening the profile. Examples:

* **Voicemail left**, **No answer**, **Call failed**, or **Awaiting call**: the latest screening call attempt.
* **Hung Up · Q3**: the candidate hung up during question 3.
* **No phone number** or **No resume**: something is missing.
* The interview date and time, or **Interviewed** with the date once round 1 is done.
* **No-show**, or **No-show ×2** for repeat no-shows.
* **Out of range · 42 mi**: the candidate lives beyond the job's maximum distance.

## Opening a candidate

Click any row to open the candidate's profile in a panel on the right. The list stays in place behind it, so you can work through candidates one after another. Use **Full profile** in the panel to open the same view as its own page. See [The Candidate Profile](/candidates/candidate-profile).

## Searching, filtering, and sorting

Use the search box to find candidates by name, email, or phone. Search combines with the filters next to it: job, status, tier, source, pools, date, and more. See [Filters and Saved Views](/candidates/filters-and-saved-views).

Click the **Candidate** column header to sort by name, or **Applied** to sort by recent activity. Each click cycles ascending, descending, then off.

## Starring candidates

Click the star on any row to flag a candidate. Stars are personal to you, so they're useful for a shortlist you want to revisit. Click **Starred** in the views bar above the list to see only your starred candidates. You can also star a candidate from their profile.

## Row menu

Hover a row and click **⋯** for quick actions:

* **View Profile** opens the candidate's profile panel.
* **Delete** removes the candidate from your candidate list and cancels any upcoming interviews. Real candidates are kept on record, so contact CONFIRM support if you delete one by mistake. Test candidates are deleted permanently.

## Pages

The list shows 20 candidates per page. Use the controls at the bottom to move between pages. The page number is kept in the page address, so refreshing keeps your place.

## Adding candidates

Click **Add** in the page header to add a candidate by hand. See [Adding Candidates](/candidates/adding-candidates).

## Empty states

If nothing matches your search or filters, the page shows **No candidates found** with a **Clear filters** button. If your organization has no candidates yet, you'll see **No candidates yet** with an **Add Candidate** button.
